What We Dont Do

The training provided by SARDA is focussed on training dogs and handlers to search for missing people and assist in their rescue

SARDA:

  • Is not a dog training club, but is a search and rescue organization.
  • Does not rescue dogs
  • Does not take dogs for training independently of their owners
  • Is not involved in any form of detection work for criminal investigation
  • Does not respond to calls from private individuals - the public should call the Gardai in all missing person incidents
  • Does not work in areas which pose a physical danger to either dog or handler
  • Members do not train dogs for sale to others
  • Does not run courses (training of dog teams takes places at group sessions both locally and nationally and takes 2-3 years)
