Michael Grant and Ziggy were successful this weekend in their novice assessment in Wicklow. The assessment took place over three days, and weather conditions were challenging throughout. Mick now rejoins the Sarda active search dog ranks and looks forward to a long and busy service with Ziggy.

Many thanks to our dogsbodies who suffered valiantly throughout the weekend, and to our internal and external assessors, especially to Ken Sloan and Paul Taylor of Search And Rescue Dog Association England who travelled over for the assessment. Much credit for the successful running of the weekend is down to Sheelagh O’Malley and Simon Kelly. *Sarda personnel also assisted in Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue and Dublin-Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team in two rescues during the course of the Sunday afternoon at the Lead Mines near Wicklow Gap.
